Active together Oadby & Wigston, Action Deafness and England Basketball have worked together to create a Deaf Basketball Day

On: Saturday 9th April 2011

Time: 10.30am – 12.30pm

At: Parklands Leisure Centre

77 Wigston Rd Oadby

Leicester LE2 5QG

Aim: The main aim is to promote awareness for D/deaf basketball and Sport in Leicestershire.  By the end of this campaign we would like to set up a team which can be entered in a competitive league level.

There will be an open day on Saturday 9th April, from that date 12 consecutive weeks can be used for training and coaching, in order to potentially develop a team. The programme is aimed for all age groups, male and female. On the open day however the event will be divided into 2 halves. The 1st hour 10.30am-11.30am will be for juniors and the 2nd hour 11.30am-12.30pm will be for seniors (16+). All modes of communication will be provided and all staff and volunteers have been assessed for safety concerns to include insurance and Criminal Bureau Checks (CRB).

Parklands have a spacious car park so parking should not be a problem. The open day will be a free event. The following weeks will be a £2 charge for each participant. If you would like to attend, or find out more information on this event please don’t hesitate to contact us and book a place by emailing us on:
