Deaf Swimming

Representatives from UK Deaf Sport, British Swimming, Swim England, Scottish Swimming and Swim Wales met before Christmas to discuss the growing concern raised by athletes, family members and interested parties about provisions and support for Deaf Swimmers.

All parties are commitment to supporting the development of deaf swimming. Each recognises and acknowledge the challenges that exist for deaf swimmers and those that are on the deaf pathway to competing at International Competitions, including the Deaflympics Games.

There is a commitment to working together to help support deaf swimmers through the pathway while acknowledging the remits and responsibilities of each party.

Please download the joint statement below giving further information about each of the roles of the organisation and what the proposed next steps are.
