DeaflympicsGB appoint Media Officer

DeaflympicsGB are proud to announce the appointment of Christopher Doyle as Media Officer for the Deaflympics in Samsun, Turkey this summer.
Christopher is a recent graduate from Nottingham Trent University in Broadcast Journalism and has already worked with Sky Sports and NTU Media outlets. Christopher most recently presented and led the media for the ‘six times open’ charity event in conjunction with Notts County FC (https://www.facebook.com/sixtimesopen/). Christopher will be joining the DeaflympicsGB squad from the 22nd July to ensure all the sports DeaflympicsGB are competing in are getting maximum exposure. Christopher said

“I have always been fascinated in how sport is represented and the way the media can get people so excited for an event. I will be working with the athletes before, during and after the Deaflympics to ensure you get to know the athletes and also celebrate their success during the games.”

Chef de Mission Christof Niklaus commented on Christopher’s appointment

“We’re excited to have Christopher on board especially with his wealth of experience for a young man.  Sometimes one feels that deaf sports is not highlighted enough in the media so we know Christopher will reverse this trend and bring forward daily reports and updates directly from Samsun.  Christopher now completes the DeaflympicsGB team and we are now ready for Samsun!”
