Funding Opportunity for Elite Athletes

The GLL Sport Foundation offers funding and training grants to help the next generation of sporting hopefuls. The Foundation operates across a range of Boroughs / Districts in London and South England. Despite being recognised as talented sports people, most athletes have very limited access to funding opportunities and many are unable to meet the rising costs of competition and training as regional and national demands are placed upon them. Evidence from the Country’s top athletes will confirm that the rise from local talent to regional and national competition is characteristically one of the most difficult stages of an athlete’s career. The Foundation has set key objectives to help reduce the financial burden facing many people as they progress within their chosen sport.  Peter Bundey, Chair GLL Sport Foundation is keen to expand the impact of the scheme:
“We believe that the vast majority of the athletes that benefit from the GLL Sport Foundation will give something back to sport and society in some way; whether as a future champion, coach, sport volunteer, fund raiser or often as an inspirational role model that inspires young people to achieve”.
