GB Deaf Badminton Training Weekends

GB Deaf Badminton have announced their training weekend schedule for 2010/2011. New players can attend to have a chance of being in the GB team for next year’s World Deaf Badminton Championships in Korea.
The training weekends take place in Hull at:
East Riding Sports Club
Chanterlands Ave North
Hull
East Yorks
HU5 4ED.
Times are Saturdays 10am-3pm, Sundays 9.30-1.00pm. For the full list of dates, please see the UKDS Sporting Schedule.
Players help to pay for the court hire: £15 per weekend (£12 students) or £10 Saturday/£8 Sunday (£8/£6 students).
Janet Thomson, GB Deaf Badminton Manager explains:
“Players need to bring their own sport clothing, suitable footwear (non marking soles), badminton rackets and drinks. Water is supplied at the club.  Showers are provided.
“After the sessions, the players usually go out for a bite to eat at local pub – meals are usually under a fiver or on a 2-for-1 deal if we have even numbers so food costs would be more than £10 per person on meals and drinks.”
Janet is also happy to help players with accommodation for these weekends.  Please contact Janet via GB Deaf Badminton’s own website at www.deafbadminton.org.uk.
