Philip Blocking was “very pleased with the team achieving their best performance in the European Deaf Tenpin Bowling Championships”.
Philip explained that “the players really enjoyed the challenges they faced against their European counterparts”.
This was the 10th European Championships and all the team are very proud to be representing GB. Next year the event will be in Turkey in August 2015 and the team are already on the look out for sponsorship and plan to raise funds to allow them to compete.
Philip added that “their 4 players are very good players and can match the highest levels in European Deaf Tenpin Bowling”.
GB sent out a team of 6 players; Matt Forsyth, Damien Bates, Ray Lay, Jaan Laumets, Philip Bocking and Barry Pearce. The team was coached by Mike Quarry who has been working with the team for the last few months.
They competed in the singles, doubles, trios and 5 man Team and made it through to the Masters.
With 24 mens teams competing this was a great achievment by team GB.
