ICSD meets with Greece Government to discuss 2013 Summer Deaflympics

The meeting was held between:
  • Mr. Bitsaxi, Greece Sport Minister;
  • Craig Crowley, ICSD President;
  • Tiffany Granfors, ICSD Chief Executive Officer;
  • Hellenic Athletic Federation of the Deaf.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss Greece’s financial hardship, which might affect the 2013 Deaflympics.
The Greek Government is currently researching all possibilities to host the Deaflympics and act in good faith on its’ commitment to ICSD and the worldwide Deaf sports community.
Both ICSD and HAFD appreciated the positive turnout of many Deaf people, including athletes outside the Government office to support ICSD’s proposal for 2013 Deaflympics to continue as planned.
The final decision is expected next month.
