National Deaf Youth Football Tournament 2012 a great success

National Deaf Youth Football Tournament 2012

The 5th National Deaf Youth Football Tournament took place recently.

For the first time ever, the tournament was split into two regions, a Northern region, taking place in Liverpool on the 4th March and a Southern region, taking place in Reading on the 18th March.

A record 30 teams from across the country took part, with over 200 deaf children and young people aged 5 to 18 participating.

Of all the 30 teams who competed, not 1 team went through the tournament with a 100% winning record, showing how levels of competitiveness have increased and become closer over the past 5 years.

Throughout both tournaments, the players displayed a really high quality level of football at the same time as demonstrating brilliant, friendly attitudes
