This past Sunday, NDCS held their 4th annual National Deaf Youth Football tournament at the Powerleague Soccerdome, in the shadow of Derby County’s Pride Park stadium. The tournament was open to 5-a-side teams comprised of over 50% D/deaf players.
The day saw some excellent football played, but ultimately only one team could triumph in each age group. In the Under-12s tournament, Everton beat Cardiff City A 10-0 to take the trophy. This result was overturned in the next final, with Cardiff’s Under-16 A squad besting Everton 6-3. Finally, the Under-18s final saw Luton Town defeat St John’s 12-1.
UKDS would like to congratulate the winners, and indeed all teams that took part in the day. We’d also like to congratulate NDCS for their superb organisation of the tournament, and their excellent football programme in general.
