The 2.6 Challenge

How to get involved

UK Deaf Sport have joined forces with the UK’s mass participation event Industry to createThe 2.6 Challenge, a nationwide fundraising campaign which was launched to raise money for charities on Sunday 26 April.

We are asking you to take part in an activity based around the number 2.6 or 26, that best suits your skills to either fundraise or donate for UK Deaf Sport. The monies raised will be directed towards our online activities and resources supporting deaf people to keep being physically active.

Perhaps you’re feeling bored at home and fancy a challenge? You can run or walk 2.6 milies or 2.6km or for 26 minutes. You could do the same in your home or garden; go up and down the stairs 26 times, juggle for 2.6 minutes, do a 26-minute exercise class, why not get 26 people on a video call for a 26-minute workout – anything you like. Read this brilliant booklet of 26 fun ideas for fundraising challenges. It also contains a poster you can print out, colour in and put in your window to show you’re taking part or that you’ve completed the challenge

We want people to be active, have fun and raise money for UK Deaf Sport – which we will then use to support Deaf people to stay active in their homes at this difficult time.

Best of luck with the 2.6 Challenge: let’s all be Home Heroes and make 26th April a day to remember.
