UK Deaf Sport are really delighted to be announcing that we have appointed Tyron Woolfe to the role of All Together London Deaf Activation Manager.
Tyron has over 15 years of experience working for a wide range of organisations such as DCAL (Deafness, Cognition and Language, University College London) and National Deaf Children’s Society. His background also includes research looking into deaf children’s developmental outcomes. Tyron is also the chair of the Deaf LGBTIQA group.
This is a two year funded project through Comic Relief and will see us working in the areas of Bexley, Tower Hamlets, Hillingdon and Greenwich.
We are really excited about this programme as it will seek to support deaf children, young people and adults living in London to feel confident and enabled to access sport and physical activities and develop skills. Through the programme we will also look to promote good mental health.
This area of work will also include working with and training mainstream coaches and volunteers to make sport and physical activity opportunities inclusive.
For further information on the project and how you can get involved, please contact Tyron at: Tyron.Woolfe@ukds.org.uk.
