Bangor University is looking for Deaf sprinters or Deaf people with sprint start/starting block experience

Bangor University is looking for Deaf sprinters or Deaf people with sprint start/starting block experience to take part in a paid sprint start study. The study will contribute to research that aims to inform the development of a standardised starting system in Deaf athletics.

The study involves doing ~30 sprint starts to measure your reaction time to different sensory stimuli – e.g. light and vibration – and takes around an hour to complete. If you take part, you will be paid £15 for your time.

We are also looking for Deaf sprinters, coaches/managers of Deaf sprinters and anyone who has directly worked in Deaf sport to take part in an interview to discuss experiences, thoughts and opinions to different starting systems in Deaf sport.

The interviews will take around 60 minutes and you will be paid £30 for taking part. Testing for both studies will be taking place (flexible until the 3rd April so please contact Libby Steele peu721@bangor.ac.uk (peu721@bangor.ac.uk) if you are eligible and interested in taking part!
