DeaflympicsGB Celebrate success at Parliament

A wonderful day at the House of Commons yesterday as DeaflympicsGB athletes, volunteers, staff, UKDS board members, and supporters, who have supported our journey to Tokyo, congregated in Westminster to celebrate the incredible achievements at the 2025 Deaflympics.

Caroline Dinenage MP, Chair of the Culture, Media and Sport Committee, joined us to commemorate the DeaflympicsGB team’s wonderful performance at the games, which saw our athletes claim 12 medals, consisting of 5 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze.

Thank you to A&O Shearman for supporting the event and helping us celebrate a record-breaking Deaflympics in such an amazing way.

CEO, Chris Ratcliffe says, “It was great to be able to showcase the Deaflympics and the wider work of UK Deaf Sport in Parliament yesterday. We are grateful to MPs for their support in recognising the achievements of our athletes and for spending time with us to better understand the barriers Deaf athletes at all levels”.
