DeaflympicsGB’s policies and procedures

The Deaflympics is the international multi-sport event for deaf athletes, organised by the International Committee of Sports for the Deaf

The Deaflympics were first held in 1924 and were previously known as the Silent games and the World Games for the Deaf.

To represent Great Britain in the Deaflympics, all athletes must:

  • be a British Citizen (with a valid British Passport).
  • be deaf with a minimum 55dB hearing loss in the “better ear” as noted in the ICSD Audiogram Regulations.
