One Year until 2025 Deaflympics in Tokyo

Just 365 days to go until the Deaflympics 2025 in Tokyo.

In partnership with Ocean Outdoor we marked this milestone with a launch of our fundraising campaign to get our DeaflympicGB athletes to Japan.

We were joined by CEO Chris Ratcliffe, Chairman Nick Brookes and GB Deaf Footballer Lucindha Lawson in Central London.

Our campaign will reach across the country with the Ocean Outdoor network of over 11 screens nationwide.

We are excited about the GB Team competing in the next Deaflympics which take place in Tokyo in November 2025. However, we are mindful of the pressure that our team faces in having to raise a total of £500,000 of funding from voluntary sources. This adds huge pressure on our DeaflympicsGB athletes and further distracts them from their training and preparation to perform at their very best. We hope this fundraising campaign will enable us to support our athletes as best as we can.

UK Deaf Sport works in partnership with key organisations to ensure that deaf children, young people and adults have equal opportunities to participate and excel in sport and physical activity as their hearing counterparts from grassroots to elite level.

As the National Governing Body for Deaf Sport, UK Deaf Sport are responsible for ensuring good governance including the administration and coordination of deaf sport teams competing abroad at both a British and Home Nation level. UK Deaf Sport is also responsible for the selection and management of the DeaflympicsGB Team, the official team that represents Great Britain at the Summer and Winter Deaflympics.
