Hammer Throw Gold and hopeful New Deaf World Record

Many congratulations to Charlotte Payne for winning the Women’s Hammer Throw gold at the Müller UK Athletics Championships in Manchester on 26 June 2022.

Charlotte’s 70.59m throw makes her the youngest and only the 3rd woman in British Hammer Throw history to break the 70m barrier. Also breaking the stadium record in the process.

This throw breaks her own record of 69.58m at the Berkshire County Championships in May 2022 which UKDS has submitted to ICSD for recognition of a new Deaf World Record.

Paperwork will now be submitted for recognition of her new record.
