Kristy Hopkins: A Deaf Role Model Breaking Down Barriers in Rugby

Kristy Hopkins is a Specialist Teacher of Deaf Children & Young People working towards her British Sign Language (BSL) level 4 qualification. Born hard of hearing, she understands the barriers faced by people who are D/deaf, especially in sports. Kristy is also an avid sportsperson who plays international rugby for Wales Deaf. Recently, her team participated in the Rugby 7’s World Cup Championships in Cordoboa, Argentina where both men’s and women’s teams have come home as World Champions!
