About Deaf Football
Deaf Football is one of the largest deaf sports in the UK.
As of January 2019, there were 52 affiliated deaf football teams across England, a number of which compete in mainstream leagues and competitions alongside a variety of deaf-specific competitions and less-formal turn-up-and-play opportunities for those who simply prefer a kick-around with friends.

England Deaf Football was formally launched June 2003 at Old Trafford, Manchester United FC. Since then they have grown from strength to strength.
Since its launch, EDF and the Deaf Football community have seen over hundred of Deaf matches being played across the country.

The Wales Deaf Futsal squad competes in a home nations tournament every year.
The squad is mostly made up of deaf players from football clubs across Wales and England.
The Scottish Deaf Football Association (SDFA) in partnership with the Scottish Football Association and part of the Scottish Para-Football, focus on developing futsal and football opportunities for deaf (hearing impaired) players at all ages, gender and levels.

Refereeing a match with deaf players
A set of guidelines for refereeing football matches involving deaf footballers have been produced by the FA in partnership with the National Deaf Children’s Society.
